Founder and Director of CEDIME (Centro de Estudios de las Disfunciones Músculo Esqueléticas), Santiago, Chile. Former Director of the Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy (DPT) at University of Saint Augustine, Southern Hemisphere, South America and South Africa. Former Medical and Physical Rehabilitation Director at Integramédica, Chile.

 

International authority on TMJ dysfunction having developed the Rocabado approach to craniomandibular and craniocervical disorders integrating manual therapy with dental treatment. Honorary Member of American Academy of Orofacial Pain and American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. Founding member and past President of Chilean Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders and Facial Pain, Brazilian Academy of Craniomandibular and Craniocervical Disorders and Facial Pain, and Iberian Latin American Academy of Head, Neck and Facial Pain. Founding member of Italian Craniomandibular and Orofacial Pain Academy.

 

Kinesiology degree from University of Chile. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from University of Saint Augustine, Florida, USA (2003). Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (OMT-Chile), specialist training from Health Institute Atlanta, USA. Honorary Member of Argentinean Association of Physiatry and Kinesiology, Colombian Physical Therapy Association, and Chilean Orthodontic Society. Member of American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Patron of Norwegian Manual Therapy Group, Australia. Editorial Board member of Cranio and Orthopedic and Manual Therapy journals. Author of multiple textbooks on head and neck biomechanics, pain, and exercise protocols. Internationally recognized for contributions to interdisciplinary treatment of TMJ disorders requiring collaboration between physical therapists and dentists.
