Professor e chefe do Departamento de Endodontia da Université Paris Cité, anteriormente Paris Diderot, UFR d'Odontologie, e endodontista assistente no Groupe Hospitalier Pitié-Salpêtrière–Charles Foix, AP-HP, Paris. Ele é um dos principais endodontistas acadêmicos da França e um pesquisador reconhecido internacionalmente em regeneração pulpar e terapia endodôntica biologicamente ativa.
Autor de oito livros sobre endodontia, incluindo o tratado multivolume Endodontie Clinique publicado pela Éditions CdP, e autor ou coautor de mais de 60 publicações revisadas por pares em periódicos indexados, com índice h no Google Scholar de 28 e mais de 3.100 citações. Seu trabalho abrange estudos com mineral trioxide aggregate, MTA, terapia pulpar vital, procedimentos endodônticos regenerativos, REP, e biologia molecular do reparo do complexo polpa-dentina. Ele é membro da rede de pesquisadores Pulp Biology and Pathology com fortes ligações ao Dental Hospital Birmingham Pulp Biology Group dos professores Anthony Smith e Paul Cooper.
