Dentista, pesquisador clínico e acadêmico. Associate Professor e International Coordinator da Section of Orofacial Pain and Jaw Function, Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Dinamarca (desde setembro de 2021; Assistant/Associate Professor desde 2008). Membro do Scandinavian Center for Orofacial Neurosciences (SCON).
Sua pesquisa abrange todo o espectro da dor orofacial e da medicina dentária do sono: disfunções temporomandibulares, bruxismo, modelos experimentais de dor muscular, apneia do sono e função das vias aéreas superiores, e mecanismos psicofísicos da dor. Ex-PostDoc no Karolinska Institutet, Estocolmo (2009 — modelos experimentais craniofaciais com solução salina ácida) e na Aalborg University (2008 — injeções experimentais miofasciais de glutamato evocando dor). Colaborador internacional em diretrizes de consenso para diagnóstico EMG do bruxismo do sono, desenvolvimento de diretrizes para a classificação DC/TMD e padrões educacionais em dental sleep medicine. Coordenador dos programas internacionais de intercâmbio da Aarhus University para estudantes de odontologia e colaborador na transformação digital do departamento.
Autor de publicações revisadas por pares em dor orofacial, bruxismo e pesquisa sobre distúrbios respiratórios do sono. DDS. PhD in Medicine, Aarhus University. MSc in Public Health.
