Professor Emérito na Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, Canadá. Ex-Chefe de Endodontia (20 anos) e Diretor do M.Sc. Endodontics Program (22 anos). Uma das autoridades líderes mundiais em pesquisa de resultados endodônticos e endodontia baseada em evidências.
Mais de 48 anos de experiência clínica e acadêmica em endodontia desde graduação em 1975. Recebeu grau DMD e certificado de especialidade em Endodontia da Hebrew University and Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine, Jerusalém, Israel. Praticou endodontia em Israel por 9 anos antes de mudar-se para o Canadá. Nomeado Professor Associado e Chefe de Endodontia na University of Toronto (1992), estabelecendo o primeiro e único programa de pós-graduação em endodontia do Canadá (1993). Promovido a Professor Titular (1996). Mantém prática privada limitada à endodontia em Toronto ao lado de nomeações acadêmicas.
Autoridade internacional em resultados de tratamento, fatores prognósticos e tomada de decisões baseada em evidências em endodontia. Foco de pesquisa em cura endodôntica e taxas de sobrevivência, cavidades de acesso minimamente invasivas, designs de cavidade endodôntica contraída, reimplante intencional, transplante autógeno e clareamento interno. Publicou revisões sistemáticas históricas estabelecendo padrões baseados em evidências para critérios de sucesso endodôntico. Serviu no Scientific Advisory Board da Sonendo Inc.
DMD pela Hebrew University, Jerusalém (1975). Certificado em Endodontia pela Hebrew University (1983). Publicou mais de 145 artigos científicos revisados por pares em revistas endodônticas líderes incluindo Journal of Endodontics, International Endodontic Journal, e Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology. Autor de 11 capítulos de livros didáticos. Apresentou mais de 300 palestras mundialmente. Serviu em conselhos editoriais de revistas endodônticas importantes. Recipiente de prêmios prestigiosos: AAE Louis I. Grossman Award (2008) por contribuições de pesquisa significativas à endodontologia; W.W. Wood Award da Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (2013) por excelência em educação dental; Award of Distinction da Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto (2014) por liderança excepcional; AAE I.B. Bender Lifetime Educator Award (2018) por excelência em atividades educacionais em tempo integral.
