Descrição
Endodontic retreatment often requires more than simply repeating the original treatment protocol. Accurate diagnosis, identification of the cause of failure, management of procedural complications, and appropriate selection of repair materials are essential for achieving predictable outcomes.
This clinically focused course provides a systematic approach to non-surgical endodontic retreatment and the management of procedural complications, with particular emphasis on perforations, intracanal obstructions, and iatrogenic mishaps.
Participants will explore contemporary diagnostic methods, retreatment planning, techniques for managing complex canal obstructions, and protocols for repairing perforations using modern bioceramic materials.
During the course, you will learn:
– Diagnosis of endodontic treatment failure and systematic planning of non-surgical retreatment
– Prevention, diagnosis, and management of perforations
– Safe removal of posts, separated instruments, and carrier-based obturation materials
– Management of procedural mishaps, including ledges, canal transportation, and perforations
– Selection and application of MTA, Biodentine, and bioceramic repair materials
– Decision-making between non-surgical and surgical retreatment, including management of complications and long-term follow-up.
Aula 1.Perforations in Endodontics: Prevention, Diagnosis, and Contemporary Management
– Classification of root perforations by location, size, and timing, and their impact on prognosis
– Clinical and procedural causes of perforations during access, instrumentation, and post-space preparation
– Diagnostic methods for detecting and localizing perforations, including periapical radiography, CBCT, and clinical assessment
– Prognostic factors, including perforation size and location, time to repair, and periodontal involvement
– Properties and clinical indications of repair materials, including MTA, Biodentine, and bioceramic putties
– Step-by-step protocols for immediate and delayed perforation repair
– Management of complications, including internal resorption and periodontal breakdown
– Case-based decision-making for referral versus in-house management.
Aula 2.Endodontic Retreatment: Managing Procedural Mishaps and Selecting Repair Materials
– Identification of the principal causes of endodontic treatment failure through clinical and radiographic assessment
– Systematic treatment planning for non-surgical retreatment and case selection
– Safe removal of intracanal obstructions, including posts, separated instruments, and carrier-based obturation materials
– Management of procedural mishaps, including ledges, canal transportation, and perforations
– Selection and application of bioceramic and repair materials according to defect location, moisture control, and sealing requirements
– Decision-making between surgical and non-surgical retreatment, including management of extruded materials and iatrogenic complications
– Long-term outcomes and follow-up protocols for retreated teeth with previous procedural mishaps.
