Professor of Pediatric Dentistry specializing in pulp therapy and endodontic treatment of primary and young permanent teeth. Professor at Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.

Over 50 years of clinical, teaching, and research experience in pediatric dentistry. Born in Brazil, practiced and taught at Federal University of Paraná until 1973 before immigrating to Israel to join Hebrew University. Recognized internationally as the leading authority on vital pulp therapy in pediatric dentistry, having established evidence-based protocols for pulpotomy procedures and materials used worldwide. Research focus on materials science applications in clinical pulp therapy, particularly formocresol, ferric sulfate, MTA, and biodentine for primary tooth pulpotomies.

Past President of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD, 2007-2008). Principal Editor of the textbook "Pediatric Endodontics" (Springer, 2016), the only specialized reference on endodontic treatment for primary and young permanent teeth, translated into Chinese and Turkish. Published over 130 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and over 85 abstracts. Contributed 16 chapters to pediatric dentistry textbooks. Fluent in multiple languages, lectures internationally at major pediatric dentistry conferences.

Recipient of Distinguished Service Award from American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) in 2013. Honorary Member of International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD, 2015). Editorial board member of several international dental journals including Pediatric Dentistry, International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry, and Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry.
