Uma das figuras mais influentes no desenvolvimento global da cirurgia óssea piezoelétrica — o primeiro clínico a introduzir dispositivos Piezosurgery na região Ásia-Pacífico (2002). Desenvolvedor e principal pesquisador da técnica Hydrodynamic Piezoelectric Internal Sinus Elevation (HPISE) (2008) — uma abordagem transcrestal, sem retalho e minimamente invasiva que combina vibração ultrassônica e pressão hidráulica para elevar a membrana do seio maxilar sem janela lateral. Um estudo clínico multicêntrico de 250 seios maxilares utilizando HPISE mostrou ganho ósseo vertical médio de 5,49 mm e taxa de sucesso dos implantes de 97,2 %, com taxa de perfuração da membrana de 2,83 %.

 

Autor de dois livros-texto em coreano: Immediate Loading with Provisional Implants (Ji-Sung Publishing, 2002) e Clinical Applications of Sintered Porous Surface Implants (Gun-Ja Publishing). Autor de numerosas publicações revisadas por pares em periódicos de implantodontia e cirurgia oral; membro do Editorial Advisory Board do Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry.
