Es conveniente ver el plano oclusal de manera tridimensional y comprender que sus características son el resultado de la interacción de la la base craneal, el complejo nasomaxilar y el complejo craneo cervicomandibular; además la función muscular insertada en estos complejos, moldea al plano oclusal.
Una musculatura simétrica y funcional ejerce una influencia positiva sobre el plano oclusal, favoreciendo un plano oclusal con ligera inclinación acercándose a Xi. Esto favorece al crecimiento en un patrón de clase I.
En este vídeo veremos cómo es el crecimiento en los patrones de clase I, clase II y clase III, y cómo eso se ve reflejado en el plano oclusal.
Detallaremos las características del plano oclusal en cada uno de los patrones y cómo influye la modificación del plano oclusal en el tratamiento de las maloclusiones.
