Los arcos y alambres Gummetal tienen excelente capacidad de doblado, alta resistencia y una superficie de baja fricción. Estas características combinadas logran un óptimo control de la biomecánica, ejerciendo fuerzas suaves y continuas.
Los arcos Gummetal tiene un módulo de Young muy bajo, aunque con suficiente rigidez. Por ello es posible un control tridimensional único de los dientes, reduciendo significativamente el tiempo de los tratamientos.
La fricción entre la superficie del alambre Gummetal y el metal del bracket es la mitad que en otras aleaciones de titanio.
Debido su gran flexibilidad se pueden utilizar en arcos Gummetal cuadrados y rectangulares en las primeras fases de tratamiento para controlar el torque. También se puede utilizar en arcos redondos para lograr un control activo gracias a su rigidez moderada y su óptima capacidad de recuperación.
