Programa de aula
- The biological events that take place during wound healing
- New regenerative biomaterials for bone and/or periodontal regeneration
- The regenerative properties of Emdogain and an introduction to Osteogain
- Use of Hyaluronic Acid for soft tissue wound healing
- Use of Tetranite as a novel bone adhesive
New and innovative biomaterials are being discovered or created in laboratories at an unprecedented rate, but many of them remain entirely foreign to practicing clinicians. This first lecture addresses this gap in knowledge by summarizing some of the groundbreaking research performed to date on this topic and providing case examples of these biomaterials at work. The lecture begins with a review of the biologic background and applications of bone grafting materials utilized in dentistry. Many next-generation materials and growth factors that will optimize future bone and periodontal regeneration are presented.
