Formação como técnico em prótese dentária, Hamburgo (1979–1983). Qualificação de engenheiro prático, Hamburgo (1988 — também o ano em que fundou seu instituto de formação). Exame de mestrado profissional, Münster, Renânia do Norte-Vestfália (22 de abril de 1992). Trabalhou em laboratórios odontológicos comerciais em Bielefeld (1985–1988) antes de estabelecer seu próprio laboratório independente.
Editor da QZ — Quintessenz der Zahntechnik (Quintessence of Dental Technology), uma das principais revistas de tecnologia odontológica da Alemanha. Atividades de assessoria e consultoria em prática e tecnologia de laboratório odontológico.
