Encyclopedia of the Planas concept — comprehensive online training for orthodontists and dental technicians! Thanks to the training, the “orthodontist-dental technician” team will receive a complete protocol for working with these appliances. Dental technicians will learn how to make various versions of the Planas appliance, and orthodontists will learn to select the appropriate appliance for the clinical situation and repair it themselves.

Seu foco clínico e de pesquisa abrange ortopedia funcional dos maxilares, disfunções temporomandibulares, oclusão dentária, medição de força de mordida, crescimento craniofacial e aplicação de bioengenharia e nanomateriais no desenvolvimento de dispositivos odontológicos.

 

Possui PhD em Mechanical Engineering com concentração em Bioengineering pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, UFMG. Sua pesquisa conecta odontologia e engenharia no desenvolvimento e validação de aparelhos ortopédicos funcionais, incluindo um estudo retrospectivo sobre resultados do tratamento com ortopedia funcional dos maxilares em pacientes com TMD publicado no Journal of Jaw Functional Orthopedics and Craniofacial Growth. É coautor do Atlas of Construction of Orthopedic Functional Appliances, edição em português. É membro da Academy of Dentistry of Minas Gerais.
