Ortodontista e pesquisador especializado em ortodontia craniomandibular, biomecânica MEAW/GEAW e tratamento de más oclusões complexas. Clinical Associate Professor no Colombian Dental College (UNICOC), Cali, Colômbia. Visiting Professor na University of Cartagena, Colômbia. Membro do corpo docente da IDEA (Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy), Foster City, Califórnia.
Mais de 40 anos de experiência clínica e acadêmica em ortodontia desde graduação em 1985. Treinado diretamente sob o Professor Sadao Sato na Kanagawa Dental University por três anos, tornando-se um dos estudantes principais de Sato e principais expoentes da filosofia MEAW/GEAW na América Latina. Completou PhD na Kanagawa Dental University (2014-2017) com dissertação intitulada "Morphological Characterization of Mandibular Lateral Displacement using 3D CBCT," estabelecendo fundamento científico para diagnóstico e tratamento de más oclusões assimétricas. Pesquisador no Department of Orthodontics no Colombian Dental College focando em controle vertical, gerenciamento do plano oclusal e abordagens de tratamento interdisciplinar.
Palestrante internacional apresentando mundialmente sobre ortodontia Gummetal, biomecânica avançada, controle vertical em casos complexos, gerenciamento do plano oclusal e tratamento interdisciplinar combinando ortodontia com terapia oclusal e tratamento da ATM. Membro do corpo docente do programa de três anos IDEA ensinando "Orthodontics Related to Function, Occlusion and the Cranio-Mandibular System" ao lado do Professor Sadao Sato e Dr. Heike Kraemer desde 2007. Instrutor de master class ensinando aplicação prática de arcos Gummetal para tratamento não cirúrgico de más oclusões esqueléticas severas.
DDS pela University of Cartagena, Colômbia (1985). Master of Science em Ortodontia e Ortopedia Dentofacial pela Complutense University of Madrid, Espanha (1995). PhD em Ortodontia Craniomandibular e Medicina da Oclusão pela Kanagawa Dental University, Yokosuka, Japão (2017). Membro da E.H. Angle Society of Orthodontics, North Atlantic Component. Membro do corpo docente da IDEA Academy. Ministra palestras extensivamente em espanhol, inglês e português em conferências internacionais e cursos IDEA. Especialista em biomecânica do tratamento ortodôntico usando arcos Gummetal, permitindo controle tridimensional superior do movimento dental e correção não cirúrgica de discrepâncias verticais e sagitais severas. Publicou pesquisa sobre análise CBCT de deslocamento mandibular e assimetria.
