Online course on conservative and surgical methods for the treatment of severe forms of TMJ diseases.
For 6 online lessons, David Angelo will sequentially analyze the information that is necessary in the work of maxillofacial surgeons and functional dentists:
– anatomy and biomechanics of the TMJ
– minimally invasive surgery
– progressive idiopathic condylar resorption
– complete alloplastic replacement of the TMJ.
This course will break down all aspects of working with severe forms of TMJ diseases. Using the example of analyzing numerous clinical cases, you will understand the thinking strategy of an outstanding maxillofacial surgeon.

Diretor Clínico, Instituto Português da Face (IPFace), Lisboa — o principal centro de referência de Portugal para patologia e tratamento da ATM. Professor e Diretor do Curso de Pós-graduação em Cirurgia Aberta e Artroscopia da Articulação Temporomandibular, Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa. Professor, Faculdade de Medicina Dentária, Universidade de Lisboa.
Pioneiro no desenvolvimento e implementação clínica de técnicas cirúrgicas minimamente invasivas e regenerativas da ATM em Portugal — incluindo artrocentese com Super-PRP (células regenerativas + ácido hialurônico), artroscopia da ATM, cirurgia aberta da ATM e substituição total articular aloplástica. Desenvolvedor de um protocolo clínico integrado de 360° abrangendo imagem diagnóstica (CBCT 3D), tratamento conservador, injeção de toxina botulínica, artrocentese, artroscopia, cirurgia articular aberta e reabilitação fisioterapêutica pós-operatória. Pesquisador na regeneração do disco da ATM usando biomateriais e medicina regenerativa inteligente. Autor de dezenas de publicações revisadas por pares como primeiro autor nas principais revistas da especialidade. Primeiro Secretário, Ordem dos Médicos Dentistas de Portugal (2016–2019).
Destinatário de mais de 11 prêmios de pesquisa nacionais e internacionais, incluindo o prestigioso Prêmio Jovem Pesquisador da Fundação Grunenthal em Dor (2015). Investigador principal do ensaio pré-clínico TEMPOJIMS. Palestrante internacional sobre diagnóstico da ATM, procedimentos minimamente invasivos e cirurgia aberta.
MD (Estomatologia), Residência no Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, Lisboa (nota final: 19,6/20, 2012–2016). Candidato a PhD, Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa (pesquisa em medicina regenerativa e biomateriais da ATM).
