Full immersion into reconstructive and plastic surgery of soft tissues around teeth and implants awaits you in a practical course with the legendary Giovanni Zucchelli!
Theoretical sessions, hands-on practice, live surgeries, and video demonstrations — all of this will be included in the course.
During the two intensive days of theoretical sessions, you will learn:
– Treatment protocols of single and multiple recessions in the upper and lower jaw
– The author's techniques of mucogingival surgery
– Treatment of recession around implants
– Soft tissue augmentation prior to implant placement.
Further training will be entirely devoted to performing live surgeries and practicing hands-on exercises (on a pig jaw) under the guidance of Giovanni Zucchelli.

– Treatment of cervical abrasion defects associated with gingival recession: selection of the most appropriate treatment approach.

– The use of Emdogain®️ in mucogingival surgery
– The use of collagen matrix in mucogingival surgery
– Connective tissue graft harvesting techniques

– Surgical treatment of multiple recession defects in the upper jaw
– Coronally advanced flap with no vertical releasing incisions
– Site-specific connective tissue graft or collagen matrix application.

DAY 2. Topic - Soft tissue plastic surgery around implants

– Keratinized tissue height and soft tissue thickness in the prevention of gingival recession around implants
– Increase of keratinized tissue height before and after implant installation
– The "submarginal connective tissue graft technique".

Professor de periodontia e implantodontia na Universidade de Bolonha, Itália, desde 2000. Graduou-se na Universidade de Bolonha em 1988 e obteve o título de PhD em Biotecnologia Médica na mesma universidade em 1999. Possui mais de 30 anos de experiência clínica e acadêmica, com foco principal em cirurgia plástica periodontal e manejo de tecidos moles ao redor de dentes e implantes.
É autor de mais de 100 publicações científicas em periódicos internacionais revisados por pares, e seu trabalho clínico e de pesquisa contribuiu significativamente para o desenvolvimento e aperfeiçoamento das abordagens cirúrgicas para o tratamento da recessão gengival e reconstrução de tecidos moles. É destinatário de vários prêmios internacionais por pesquisa clínica, incluindo o E. Bud Tarrson Research Award in Oral Plastic Surgery da American Academy of Periodontology Foundation em 2006 e 2008, e reconhecimento da European Federation of Periodontology. É Associate Editor do International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry e membro dos conselhos editoriais dos principais periódicos de periodontia.
É autor do livro Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery, publicado pela Quintessence em 2012, amplamente utilizado como referência na área. É membro ativo da European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, EAED, da Italian Society of Periodontology, SIdP, da Italian Academy of Osseointegration, IAO, e da European Federation of Periodontology, EFP. É palestrante frequente em congressos internacionais e cursos práticos, incluindo demonstrações cirúrgicas ao vivo.
