It will be a one-of-a-kind chance to closely interact with Dr. David Sanz daily practice and his pursuit of excellence in Orthognathic Surgery and treatment protocols.
What to expect on Dr. David Sanz office course:
– performing orthognathic surgeries
– performing TMJ surgeries
– monitoring of functional rehabilitation of orthognathic surgery therapy
– analysis of clinical cases.

PROGRAM
1st Day
- Presentation of the Instituto Português da Face and presentation of the week
- Presentation of clinical cases
- Clinical training: Consultations and 3D Planning.
2nd Day
- Surgical Day: Orthognathic/Temporomandibular surgery.
3rd Day
- Post-surgical follow-up appointments
- Post-surgical rehabilitation follow-up appointments with therapist
- 3D simulation of clinical cases.
Dinner with Dr. David Sanz.
4th Day
- Post-surgical orthognathic surgery rehabilitation with a therapist.
Tour of Lisbon with private driver.
5th Day
- Orthognathic surgery appointments and/or afternoon surgery (variable).
6th Day
- Clinical training
- Toxin and arthrocentesis follow-up for DTM.
7th Day
- Surgical Day: Orthognathic/Temporomandibular surgery.

Cirurgião bucomaxilofacial especializado em cirurgia ortognática, cirurgia da articulação temporomandibular e apneia obstrutiva do sono. Cofundador e Cirurgião de Equipe no Instituto Português da Face (IPFace), Lisboa — o principal centro de referência de Portugal para cirurgia da ATM e facial (cofundado com o Dr. David Angelo). Professor Assistente Convidado, Faculdade de Medicina Dentária, Universidade de Coimbra.
Mais de 16 anos de especialização clínica progressiva em cirurgia ortognática, disfunção da ATM e cirurgia de apneia do sono. Realiza todo o espectro de procedimentos ortognáticos bimaxilares, osteotomias segmentares, genioplastia e cirurgia aberta da ATM, com forte ênfase no planejamento cirúrgico virtual 3D e na reabilitação funcional multidisciplinar. Instrutor regular em programas de fellowship em cirurgia ortognática ao vivo no IPFace — proporcionando aos cirurgiões visitantes exposição prática aos seus protocolos clínicos e técnica operatória.
Autor e coautor de artigos em revistas nacionais e internacionais e apresentações em congressos científicos. Palestrante internacional sobre cirurgia ortognática, cirurgia da ATM e apneia do sono.
MD (Estomatologia/Cirurgia Bucomaxilofacial). Especialista em Cirurgia Maxilofacial. Fundador e Ex-Presidente (até março de 2018), Sociedade Portuguesa de Disfunções Temporomandibulares e Dor Orofacial (SPDOF); atual Vice-Presidente. Membro, Associação Europeia para Cirurgia Crânio-Maxilo-Facial (EACMFS).
